Materials required:
- pen or small tool
Steps :
- Step 1: Make sure the padlock is in the open position
If the padlock is not already open, open it with the current code.
- Step 2: Locate the reset button
On the TSA padlock, there’s a small button next to the code dial or on the back of the padlock.
- Step 3: Set the padlock to reset mode
Press the reset button down (with a pen or small tool).
- Step 4: Enter the new code
Turn the dials to set your new three-digit code. Choose a code that you can easily memorize.
- Step 5: Save the new code
Pull the shackle or padlock itself to register the new code.
- Step 6: Test the new code
Lock the padlock and try opening it with your new code to make sure it works properly. If this doesn’t work, repeat the steps, making sure you follow the instructions correctly.
Additional tips
Avoid choosing obvious codes such as 000 or your date of birth.
Write down your new code somewhere safe in case you forget.
If your TSA padlock is integrated into the suitcase, make sure all the steps are similar; consult the manufacturer’s manual.
